My Instagram channel @mamacarpintera was born from my desire to share my carpentry projects to attract new clients and connect with other enthusiasts. I started documenting my work and processes in a simple way, and then I realized that through each video, people began asking me more and more about the techniques and tools I was using. The response from the community has been incredible, and I’ve been working on my channel for over 5 years now, showing my day-to-day life as a mom and a carpenter. I realized that I could create a space where I could inspire others and also teach.
My passion for carpentry has always been present in my life; I loved watching my father work in the workshop. I am a graphic designer by profession, and 11 years ago, I started practicing in my free time, taking my father’s tools and experimenting with simple projects. A key part of my success was the trust and confidence my father had in me, knowing that I could do it well. It didn’t take long before it became something more serious, and I decided to deepen my knowledge and skills because things can always be done better.
The tools I use most from CMT are their cutting discs and router bits. The quality and precision are impressive, and this really makes a difference in my projects. Their durability has also impressed me, which is crucial for professional work. Currently, I am touring my country, teaching other carpenters and beginners how to use the right router bits for edging rigid materials, laminates, etc.
My main advice is to start with simple projects and not be afraid of making mistakes. Carpentry is an art that requires practice, so experiment, learn from every project, and don’t hesitate to ask for advice from the community. Also, investing in good tools can make a huge difference in your learning.
