A recent survey carried out by the Italian Woodworking Technology Association in the latter part of 2020, reports a marked favourable growth in orders equal to 3.7% compared to the same period in 2019, together with reassuring signals from domestic market, boasting a healthy increase of 7.3%, thereby surpassing the order-trend with respect to international customers (+ 3%).
"Without a doubt, the last weeks of 2020 have revealed a sector capable of tackling difficulty,
reaffirming its proclivity towards export and channeling the utmost attention to the Italian market,
one of the most important and demanding worldwide”, as describes Luigi De Vito, president of Acimall
- the Italian Industrial Federation representing Italian manufacturers.
While the opening weeks of this year show an encouraging market trend across the entire supply chain,
caution is nevertheless in order as it will be a waiting game throughout the next few quarters to understand
whether we are actually facing a real recovery in the markets.
To this end, the National Industry 4.0 Plan has been passed to provide the appropriate measures and opportunities
for support and accordingly, the Italian government has implemented new incentives in favour of technological purchases
over the next two years ".
